Celebrate half a century of spiritual and artistic tradition with the exhibition '50 Years of Hunger Cloths' at Museum de Schat van Simpelveld. Since 1976, the German organisation Misereor has invited an artist from Africa, Latin America, or Asia every two years to create a contemporary hunger cloth. This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to admire the diversity of art forms, techniques, and materials in non-Western painting over the past 50 years.

The hunger cloths call for solidarity with those less fortunate than ourselves and connect the tradition of fasting with contemporary global issues such as hunger and poverty. In addition to the impressive artworks, you gain insight into the hope for the improvement of unjust economic relationships and sustainable interaction with nature.
