Natural History Maastricht Opens New Exhibition 'Meet Bèr - Mosasaurus Experience.
from your location
The exhibition tells the story of the Maastrichtian geological period, also known as the Cretaceous. During this era, between 70 and 66 million years ago, a shallow, subtropical Cretaceous sea flooded Maastricht and South Limburg. This sea was home to giant mosasaurs, also known as Maashagedissen. The museum houses remains of various locally found bones of these giants. The most famous of these is Bèr, who lends his name to the new exhibition 'Meet Bèr - Mosasaurus Experience'.
