Enjoy an Evening of Music, Dance, and Enchanting Visuals. Experience The Five, a unique concert experience with dance film by composer Merijn Bisschops.
SCHUNCK and Intro in Situ present the national premiere of The Five, a unique concert experience with dance film by composer Merijn Bisschops. This special project is inspired by the novel The Five by Heerlen author A.H.J. Dautzenberg. Prior to the screening, Dautzenberg will discuss his work and the themes of his novel with interviewer Julie van de Schoor.
With The Five, Bisschops translates the complex structure, style, and themes of The Five into an audiovisual experience. His composition, performed by the Flemish guitar quartet Zwerm and drummer Karen Willems, blends influences from drone, metal, and indie rock, challenging the listener to discover the deeper layers beyond the raw exterior. The accompanying dance film adds a visual interpretation where the dynamics between the male and female gaze play a central role.

This evening is part of the 90th Boekenweek, which focuses on the theme "Je moerstaal." In this jubilee edition, the richness of language and literature is celebrated, themes that are also strongly present in the work of Dautzenberg and Bisschops.
