Experience the Liberation of Valkenburg Through the Eyes of American Soldiers.
Museum Valkenburg has decided to extend the impressive exhibition 'Through Their Eyes'. This exhibition, which has attracted thousands of visitors over the past months, offers a unique perspective on the liberation of Valkenburg, the first liberated part of the Netherlands. The exhibition showcases never-before-seen photos taken by American soldiers, capturing the liberation from their viewpoint.
The extension of the exhibition was made possible in collaboration with the 'We Do Remember' foundation. According to the guest curators of this foundation, this is one of the last opportunities to tell the story of the liberation as extensively as possible and pass it on to future generations. In addition to the photos, there are also everyday objects and artifacts from the liberation period on display, adding an extra dimension to the historical context.

On the first floor of the museum, visitors can immerse themselves in history through these unique images and objects. Additionally, there is a small film room where the last witnesses share their stories about the liberation of Valkenburg. This offers a special opportunity to experience the liberation as the American soldiers saw it at the time.
