Bureau Europa presents the Showroom: Maastricht ceramics and glass sale

Housed in the former Director's Villa of the Sphinx factories, parts of the rich history of Maastricht's ceramic culture are being restored to their former glory. The old Sphinx showroom comes to life for three days with a ceramics and glassware sale in collaboration with the Maastricht Earthenware Heritage Foundation.

To celebrate Maastricht's ceramic culture, the old showroom has been restored to its former glory and collectors and enthusiasts have been bringing together knowledge and presentations since 2021. The Showroom will come alive for three days with beautiful pieces of authentic Maastricht glass and ceramics. Also, two photo presentations will be on show of the former Ceramics Atelier by photographer Aron Nijs and the Social History Centre Limburg.

The Bureau Europa building opened in 1911 and was the showroom of the Sphinx, Maastricht's most famous industry, on Boschstraat. The old showroom was full of glass, crystal and porcelain, overlooked by the statue of the factories' founder: Petrus Regout. Today it is the large exhibition hall of Bureau Europa, where exhibitions on architecture and design are presented.
