Delusion ll - The Final Chapter

Young Maastricht-based choreographer Jennifer Romen and her company Oxygen have made a big impression with their detailed choreographies and visual illusions. Their first performance, Delusion, enchanted the audience by using blacklight, illusions, masquerades, video walls, film projections, light screens and acrobatic hip-hop dance. The performance was praised by Theaterkrant for the way the audience seemed to see sometimes one dancer with ten spinning legs, and sometimes a dozen half-bodies undulating through the air.

Delusion ll - The Final Chapter builds on the story of Delusion. The character we followed on her path from adolescence to adulthood, from insecure to powerful, now faces her greatest opposite. The performance explores whether this opposite pole is an enemy to be overcome, or a part of herself to be accepted and embraced. The dualities interact with each other, sometimes in conflict, sometimes in love.

Jennifer Romen once again uses blacklight, shadow play and projections to surprise the audience with elusive illusions. With the exciting interplay between the dancers and light, and the unprecedented tight choreography, this performance promises to blow audiences away even more.
