In 2023, amid a national confrontation with child abuse in France, film star Emmanuelle Béart revealed that she is a victim of incest. With co-director Anastasia Mikova, she made a documentary in which she provides a platform for others to break the shame surrounding incest. The film criticizes the laws and social taboos in France, where a child is sexually abused every three minutes. Initially hesitant to share her own story, Béart powerfully emphasizes how the silence imposed by the perpetrator has a huge impact.
After the film, there will be a Q&A with Joachim, who appears in the film, and an expert on trauma and psychology.
