The South Limburg Hill Country is a unique area. The hills and the nature quickly give you the feeling as if you are in France. The vineyards you encounter in various places play a beautiful role in this. Because growing wine in the Netherlands can’t be done anywhere else like in the south. The wines have a special flavour: you can taste the Limburg landscape. A landscape that possesses unique characteristics.
The BOB Mergelland in South Limburg is an officially EU-recognised wine region, established on 6 March 2018. These South Limburg wines possess unique characteristics due to the hilly landscape, ranging from 49 to 322 metres above sea level. Only vineyards on loess soil are permitted to carry this label, which provides the typical foundation for fresh and fruity white Limburg wines.
