The rampart along the city park and the Meuse River.
Onze Lieve Vrouwewal is both a street and a city wall or rampart. The rampart along the Maastricht City Park and the Meuse River was part of the first and second medieval city walls of Maastricht. The original rampart dates back to the 12th or 13th century but has been renovated several times over the centuries. The street of the same name in the Jekerkwartier, which is accessible only to pedestrians via stairs, features four listed monuments, including the rampart itself.
