Dr. Constanze Stelzenmüller is the director of the Center on the United States and Europe and holds the Fritz Stern Chair on Germany and Trans-Atlantic Relations at the Brookings Institution. Her impressive career includes roles as head of the Berlin office of the German Marshall Fund and Defense and International Security Editor at Die Zeit. She is also a sought-after commentator and columnist for the Financial Times.

Schuman Lecture
Each year, Maastricht University and the City of Maastricht jointly organise this lecture in commemoration of Robert Schuman and the Treaties of Rome (1957) and Maastricht (1992). Robert Schuman (1886-1963) was the French Minister of Foreign Affairs and co-founder of the European Union.
