Philzuid - Brahms and a blood-curdling Litzt

Maastricht

Experience an evening of emotion and virtuosity with Brahms, Liszt and Kodály, performed by Jun Märkl and Anika Vavić.

Brahms' four symphonies are among the best-loved orchestral repertoire, expressing a wide range of human emotions as one breathing symphonic cosmos. Schoenberg arranged Brahms' Piano Quartet to create a “Fifth Symphony of Brahms”. This work, with its sparkling tempo, mixes excellently with Liszt's blood-curdling ‘Dance of Death’ and Kodály's swirling dances.

Conductor Jun Märkl and piano soloist Anika Vavić, who have shared a special musical friendship for many years, bring these masterpieces together in a concert for Philzuid. Märkl immediately recited Vavić when he was asked by Philzuid for this concert, highlighting their close collaboration. Expect an evening full of emotion and vituosity, in which the music of Brahms, Liszt and Kodály comes to life.
