History In 1717 Guillaume Thyssen started his wine merchant in a stately home on the Grote Gracht in Maastricht. The building, from which the oldest cellars once belonged to the Maastricht fortifications, was and is ideal for storing wine.
On the Louwberg hillside, in the beautiful Jeker Valley on the south side of the city, lies the monumental 15th-century Apostelhoeve (Apostle Farmstead); the oldest and largest vineyard of the Netherlands!
